From our nationally-touted public schools to beloved diners and shore towns, there’s no shortage of reasons to love the Garden State. But what makes a New Jersey town an amazing place to live and raise kids? For the third consecutive year, we’re answering that question with our annual list of NJ’s Best Towns for Families.

We’ve spent a lot of time looking at things like education, affordability, crime rate, commute time, diversity and access to hospitals. This year, we took an even deeper dive into high school performance and added a new factor into our mix that’s exclusive to us—and that’s how many of NJ’s Favorite Kids’ Docs (chosen by our readers) practice in each town. See New Jersey's Best Towns for Families and where your town landed on our list.
