Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City has just made its pool and fitness center off-limits to kids. After many complaints from customers, the company announced that only adults 21+ can use the pool and fitness center.
“The pool is an amenity for our hotel guests. After receiving many complaints, Bally’s changed its pool accessibility to guests 21 years or older, and it has been well received,” said Michael Monty, general manager of Bally’s Atlantic City.
Comments are already pouring in, with guests saying, “It was nice to relax without little kids screaming and splashing” and, “This is such a relief.” Others said Atlantic City is known to be an adult playground and that families should consider taking their kids to nearby Ocean City or Wildwood.
Of course, kids are not allowed in gambling or bar areas, but in recent years the Atlantic City boardwalk has become more kid-friendly. There have always been games and rides on the southern end, plus family-friendly restaurants and shops (think Sugar Factory at Hard Rock and It’Sugar at The Pier). The Lucky Snake Arcade took over level one of Showboat Hotel Atlantic City, and Island Waterpark debuted this summer there as well and it, too, has an adults-only section.
