The largest indoor/outdoor beachfront water park is set to open for the summer — in Atlantic City! New Jersey will soon be home to Island Waterpark, 100,000 square feet of fun for the whole family. And the best part is that a retractable glass-pane roof will make it feel like it’s always summer inside.
There’s plenty in store for guests. The family-friendly park will feature water slides, lazy rivers, pools and restaurants as well as outlet shopping.
The water park will be constructed on the New Jersey Avenue beach block lot next to Showboat and will boast 11 water slides and a 10,300-square-foot splash pad. From mild to wild, there will be fun for all ages. A surf simulator will mean it’s always summer at Island Waterpark Showboat (and who doesn’t want that!).
It’s a fantastic non-casino attraction that will even further establish Atlantic City as a fun family destination. Mayor Marty Small is hoping to give families more reasons to visit AC. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority approved the project, and a tax incentive will help finance the project. It is being developed by Bart Blatstein of Philadelphia.
With awesome food options, lounge areas and party rooms, we are willing to double down on the fact that this will definitely be a new go-to destination in AC.
The expected opening date was planned for Memorial Day weekend but that has not been confirmed publicly.
