It’s no surprise that Ocean City came in at No. 1. Last year, Ocean City was voted New Jersey’s favorite beach for the ninth straight year, according to an annual poll through NJ Sea Grant Consortium. Ocean City was also voted best beach by our readers in the 2022 Garden State’s Best poll. The beaches are clean, family-friendly and easy to get to – plus there are rides and games along the boardwalk, including a giant Ferris Wheel. Good luck getting your kids to leave and go to bed!
Also on the list are the beaches in Cape May at No. 4. People love Cape May for the 2 miles of beaches and boardwalk, the restaurants, the ice cream shops, the lighthouse, the outdoor activities, the B&Bs and the shopping on Washington Street.
Belmar Beach ranks at No. 8. Whether you are walking the kids along the boardwalk, sending your teens to the 16th Avenue beach (definitely a popular area for the high school kids), or sailing in a kayak by the marina, Belmar is a popular destination in Monmouth County.
