After their school work is done and they’ve finished their list of chores, your kids are probably begging you for screen time. In the midst of coronavirus social distancing, they’re probably getting a lot more screen time than usual—and have blown through their typical content.
If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, your options may have been limited to family-friendly content on Netflix, Disney+ or YouTube. Now (we’re guessing an effort to compete with the streaming releases of Frozen 2, Onward and Trolls World Tour), Amazon has stepped up and answered the COVID-19 call: All users can now access select family titles. All you need is a free Amazon account.
These free for all Amazon programs include Pete the Cat, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Daniel Tiger, Arthur, Caillou, Shrek: Forever After, Scooby-Doo, The Smurfs and more. Content ranges from PBS KIDS series to shows for preschoolers and ages 6-11 to family movies.
Amazon’s audiobook service Audible has also launched Audible Stories, which offers free educational, entertaining and immersive children’s and family audiobooks to everyone if they are a subscriber or not. And if you are a member of Amazon Prime, you can also access a multitude of free Kindle books.
