What a great way to celebrate Easter and the arrival of spring. This year hunts come in all shapes and flavors from traditional traipses over open fields, to beach digs and even flashlight egg hunts that start just after sunset! We've found tons of hunts around the NJ, but make sure to call ahead as some require pre-registration, have a fee, have age restrictions or are only open to locals. Otherwise, bring your own baskets and bags for a great time!

ATLANTIC COUNTY

24th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Coloring Contest

Horseback Easter Egg Hunt

Cost: $8 pre-register, $10 day of.
Bring your own basket and keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny.

Summit PAL Easter Egg Hunt

When: Postponed, date TBA
Where: Summit's Village Green, 356 Broad St., Summit
Time: 1 pm
Cost: Free for Summit residents
There'll be music, entertainment, prizes and photos with the Easter Bunny. Hunt is split into age groups.

Scotch Plains Easter Egg Hunt 

When: March 24
Time: 10 am SHARP
Where: 1255 Hetfield Ave., Brookside Park, Scotch Plains 
Ages: Egg hunters must be age 8 or younger.
Meet the Easter Bunny, jelly bean guess, balloon art, tattoos, face painting. Bring your own basket.

New Providence’s 49th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

When: March 24
Time: 9:30 am
Where: Oakwood Park, 1 Rosner Place, New Providence
Ages: Preschool through 2nd Grade
Easter Bunny will arrive at 9:15 am.

Clark Easter Egg Hunt

When: March 24
Time: 2:30 pm
Clark Recreation Center, Clark
Ages: Through the 5th grade. 

Union's Annual Easter Egg Hunt

When: March 31
Where: Liberty Hall Museum, 1003 Morris Ave, Union
Time: 2-3:30 pm
Cost: The program fee is $10 for one child and adult. An extra $5 will be charged for every additional adults.
Reservations are required. 

Bowcraft Egg Hunt

When: April 16
Where: Bowcraft Amusement Park, 2545 US 22 W, Scotch Plains
Time: Noon
Cost: Regular Admission
There'll be thousands of prize-filled eggs, some that have "free ride" tickets, and one egg will have a grand prize for a Nintendo Wii.

Easter Egg Hunt

When: March 24
Where: Summit YMCA, Summit
Time: 2-4 pm
Cost:  $7/YMCA members, $10/community members
Looks like the Easter Bunny left some eggs at the Y's pool. Kids will have 15 minutes to collect eggs and another 15 minutes for egg prize exchanges (Kids will get in the pool by age group). Kids under age 6 need to be accompanied by an adult. 

WARREN COUNTY

Breakpoint Church Community Egg Hunt – Hackettstown

When: March 25
Time: 1–3 pm
Where: 493 Hwy 46E, Hackettstown
Join the festivities at 1 pm and get loads of candy at 2 pm when the hunt begins. There'll be over 14,000 eggs, games, crafts, a petting zoo and pony rides, plus the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

Delaware River Railroad

All aboard the Easter Bunny Train! Start your journey in Phillipsburg and then travel along the scenic Delaware River—having fun with banjo players and jugglers along the way. When the ride ends, kids can gather 4 toy and candy filled eggs and take a picture with Mr. Bunny at the Egg Patch.

Easter Movie Showing and Egg Hunt

When: March 26
Where: Warren County Library, Hackettstown
Time: 6-8:30 pm
Cost: Free
Ages 3-8 are invite for an egg hunt and a showing of the movie Here Comes Peter Cottontail. Popcorn and seasonal snacks will be provided. Registration required.

Quaker Steak and Lube

When: March 31
Where: Brick, Edison and Pohatcong locations
Time: 10:30 am
Kids can participate in an Easter Egg Hunt—collecting colorful eggs hidden throughout the restaurant—followed by a kids eat free special from 11 am-noon. Don't forget to bring your own basket. Guests of the Brick location will have a chance to grab photos with the Easter Bunny from 10 am-noon.
