The glowing light, color and sound display that drew crowds to the Jersey Shore last year is making a comeback this summer.

On July 17 and 18, the Grand Arcade of Asbury Park Boardwalk will be the “screen” for projection-mapped images set to music during the second annual Color & Light Festival.

Creative teams from Hungary, Ukraine, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and the U.S. created original works of 3D animated storytelling, which are so realistic that the building will look like it’s physically transforming.

And this year, creative studio Maxin10sity joins the lineup for the World Cup “Welcomes the World” Special Edition, as part of NJPAC’s North to Shore Festival.

You can also visit the Parkside Gallery, showcasing the works of more digital artists. Works of Light Sculpture will be featured on the festival grounds and in Sunset Park. There will be pop-up artisans and food vendors throughout the area.

The festival is a collaboration between PolyOne, an arts and entertainment Web3 platform headquartered in Asbury Park, and LUMA, a projection arts festival.

The Color & Light Festival runs from 8:30 to 10:30 pm July 17 and 18, with the show looping continuously. The best spot to line up is at Bradley Park, across from Convention Hall and in front of Paramount Theatre, in Asbury Park. The festival is open to the public and free to attend.
