Nothing screams summer like fresh peaches. July through September is peach picking time. Head to one of these New Jersey farms to pick some fruit fresh from the tree. Call before you go to confirm picking times, availability, weather and pricing. 

Bergen

Yellow and white peaches are available now, and nectarines expected toward the end of the month. Bring your own container, since buckets are not provided. Plastic picking bags are not allowed.

One of the largest selections of PYO in NJ includes sour green apples, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, sweet corn, cucumbers, zucchini, green beans, flat beans, broccoli and cabbage in July; then more peaches, nectarines, apples, pears, melons, berries, corn, cukes, zucchini, beans, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, broccoli and cabbage in August.

Grab your bucket and get all the fresh fruit you can. Be sure to stop by for Read & Pick: Peaches on July 22 and the Just Peachy Festival August 2 and 3. There are also 50th anniversary celebrations taking place all year.

There are lots of peaches here depending on the month. When the orchard reopens in July, pick Glengold and Sentry. In August, pick Cresthaven, Fantasia, Flavortop, Glohaven, Jerseyqueen, Lady Nancy, Loring, Raritan Rose, Redhaven, Sugar Giant, Summer Beauty and Sunglo. In September, pick Encore.

Wightman is following the orders of Mother Nature, and the 2025 PYO season isn’t open yet. In the meantime, visit the farm market 7 days a week.
