It’s a huge summer for New Jersey sports fans. First, we’ve got World Cup club soccer games going on at MetLife Stadium now through July (ahead of 2026’s World Cup). Come September, The Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center in Little Falls will host Yogi’s Big Catch Challenge, an official attempt at the Guinness World Record for the largest game of catch ever. And this season, ESPN will include the Somerset Patriots as part of its “50 States in 50 Days” Summer Tour of America.
ESPN SportsCenter will spotlight the Jersey Diners (aka the Somerset Patriots) vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats MILB game at Bridgewater’s TD Bank Ballpark from May. It’ll talk about how important baseball is to New Jersey, and how much spirit us sports fans show. The feature will debut during the midnight edition of SportsCenter on July 12.
The entire series will air starting June 27, with a mix of live on-site shows and pre-produced stories from all 50 states in 50 consecutive days. Segments from each stop will be featured across ESPN platforms including multiple SportsCenter editions, the ESPN App, and ESPN social.
