An immersive walk-through movie experience designed for fans of the big screen opens today at Paramus Pak Mall. Movie House comes from the creators of the popular Christmas House and Halloween House experiences that opened in malls throughout the tri-state area over the past couple of years. To celebrate today’s grand opening, the first 30 people who arrive for the ribbon cutting at 1 pm will have a chance to go through Movie House for free.
Movie House boasts 10 rooms packed with games, virtual reality-inspired experiences (without the need for special glasses) photo ops, ‘easter eggs,’ and more. Movie fans can snap photos in the Alice in Wonderland Illusion Room or the Under The Sea room where visitors will feel like they’re actually underwater. You and your crew can also navigate through the Willy Wonka Infinity Tunnel, take a walk through munchkin land in the Wizard of Oz room, experience the magical Harry Potter-inspired room, or head over to the beach-themed room featuring wall-to-wall sand, a boardwalk and beach pong, and real shark teeth.
There’s also a Movie in the Park Experience (with a real movie playing every night), and movie-themed games including interactive Movie House Trivia in a Blockbuster Room. Guests can take part in the Movie House Scavenger Hunt, too.
“Our vision for Movie House was to create a truly unique, family-friendly cinematic-themed experience where guests can immerse themselves in the magic of movies with some of their most beloved films,” said Michael Dessart, president of Christmas House USA. “We have meticulously designed every aspect of this venue to provide an unforgettable experience, from the stunning visuals and special effects to the entertaining interactive games. Movie House is a combination of immersive activities, escape room challenges, scavenger hunt fun, and popular trivia games, all with great photo ops!”
The Movie House experience takes 40 minutes to an hour to complete and is stroller and wheelchair friendly. It will be open from Thursdays through Saturdays from June 2 through August 26. Tickets are $24.99 for adults, $19.99 for kids ages 10 and under, and ages 3 and under are free. Family and group packages are available and include a discount and season passes are also available.
