It will be hot on the sand, but you’ll cool down when you see Santa Claus comin’ to town! The beach patrol will lead him in, while lifeguards will entertain with music and singing. For more fun, decorate your beach blanket to welcome the Jolly Old Elf.
Christmas in July Festival & Boat Parade
Sunset Park, Wildwood Crest
Cool down from the heat with a family-friendly fest celebrating Christmas during the summer. Listen to live music with “Big House” (holiday-themed songs, along with dance and party hits), have some food, check out the children’s and family activities, and grab a free photo with Santa Claus. The event ends with a boat parade in Sunset Lake, and you’ll get to see the house-decorating contest along the way.

The parade will step off at the Wildwoods sign around 10 am and continue to North Wildwood at 15th Street, led by the Tram Car and the Woodland String Band.

Virtua will provide sunset hayrides to the picking fields, where you can cut your own sunflowers. There will also be live music, food trucks and a Tomasello Winery Tasting Room. Proceeds will be donated to the NICU & Special Care Nursery at the wellness center in New Hanover.

The Christmas in July party for kids in grades 1-5 includes evergreen trees, peppermint sticks and sugar cookies. Discover how the Livingston and Kean families celebrated the season over the years. Look under the tree to see what Santa left the Kean kids. Learn about the traditions of those who lived at Liberty Hall and have fun playing holiday games, making ornaments to decorate your home during the holiday season, and enjoy some holiday treats by the fire. The program includes a snack.

Lusscroft Farm, Wantage
Shop, eat and take in the scenery at this historic farm, which is part of High Point State Park. The Barn and the Bunkhouse buildings are filled with furniture, vintage and decorative items, collectables, books, tools and glassware for sale. The 19th-century cottage has all three levels filled with holiday themed items for sale, plus a bake sale. The Carriage House and the lawn will have craft vendors and food trucks. The Turner Mansion, not normally open to the public, will be open for guided tours.

Santa Hustle: Christmas in July
Virtual Race
Although last year you were invited to suit up and run down the boardwalk in your Santa gear, this year the race has gone virtual, at least for NJ. Choose from the 12Ks of Christmas, 9K Santa’s Reindeer or 5K Jingle walks/runs, or sign up the kids for the Rudolph 1-Mile Run. You’ll still get swag like a T-shirt or medal if you sign up virtually.
For some early Christmas shopping, Hallmark stores will hold their Ornament Premiere from July 15-23.
