Liberty Science Center is a year-round gem, but it kicks it up a notch at holiday time when festive activities are added to the mix of regular exhibits.
Every day during December, you can glide around the expanded and improved Sock Skating Rink, with fluffy “snowball” fights every hour.
There are holiday-themed shows in America’s biggest planetarium, plus seasonal labs and science shows that are winter-themed.
On weekends, take a journey on the Snowflake Express, a new mini-passenger train that tours the winter wonderland. You do have to get separate tickets for this.
There’s a holiday gift explosion in the Boom Time show, a holly jolly Dance Party, and tasty Candy Cane or Vanilla Ice Cream made the scientific way, with liquid nitrogen.
Santa Claus will be waiting for photos with kids every weekend until Christmas.
After Christmas, there will be a live penguin, a kangaroo, a lemur, and more animal friends brought to LSC; plus the new Curious George exhibition, and the Blue Whale premium exhibition (only viewable through January 5). The always popular Infinity Climber, Touch Tunnel, Skyscraper and Wobbly World will also be open.
Holiday Adventure is open through January 1, 2025. Liberty Science Center is closed on December 25 but will be open on New Year’s Eve and Day.
