One of our favorite indoor spots is opening a new location at the Jersey Shore area. There’s record of Leon S. Avakian, Inc. Consulting Engineers sending a memorandum to the Neptune Township Planning Board – and if you look closely, you’ll see references to 3601 Route 66, LLC as the applicant for a new Topgolf in town, plus a QuickChek, hotel, restaurant and fast-food restaurant.
Although it won’t be located on the beach, the proposed location revamps the former offices of the Asbury Park Press in Neptune along Route 66, about 10 minutes from Asbury Park and close to the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets mall complex in Tinton Falls.
Topgolf is an indoor driving range known for its climate-controlled hitting bays (72 proposed in Neptune). The balls are microchipped so you can get your distance and score automatically. There are variations of games, too, like Sonic the Hedgehog, Angry Birds and Block Party, depending on location. We love it for a family night out, date night or birthday, since you can sit with your crew and order food and drinks with music playing.
Other Topgolf locations in New Jersey are in Edison and Mount Laurel. The opening date for Neptune is not known at this time.
