
WalletHub’s list of the Best College & University Rankings for 2025 is out and includes the top 10 schools in New Jersey.
WalletHub compared more than 800 higher-education institutions in the U.S. based on 30 key measures, including student selectivity, cost/financing and career outcomes. The data set ranges from student-faculty ratios to graduation rates to salaries after graduation.
Of course, Princeton University is No. 1 on the list, ranking first in the state for its admission rate, graduation rate, student-to-faculty ratio, and post-attendance median salary. It placed second for gender and racial diversity. Not surprisingly, Princeton U. also placed first as the top university in the country.
No. 2, Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, placed first for post-attendance median salary, second for admission rate and graduation rate, and third for student-to-faculty ratio.
Placing third, New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark landed third for net cost and post-attendance median salary, fifth for low on-campus crime and high graduation rate, and sixth for admission rate.
