As families continue to adjust to the new normal of life during the COVID-19 pandemic, kids likely have more questions every day. How long will this go on? When will a cure be found? When this is over, will I be able to hug my family and friends again? How can we answer questions when we don’t have the answers ourselves? What can we say to reassure our kids?
Tonight, Nickelodeon will air #KidsTogether: The Nickelodeon Town Hall, an hour-long special offering a kid’s-eye view of life today amid COVID-19. Hosted by actress Kristen Bell and featuring a performance by Alicia Keys, the special will address kids’ questions and worries and will share tips from medical experts on ways to be healthy. The special will also feature first-person accounts from kids and families around the country who are social distancing and making changes to their everyday lives and relationships.
Bell will connect with guests via video during the taped special which will include insights from California Surgeon General Nadine Burke Harris, former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy and appearances by Charli D’Amelio, Josh Gad, Kel Mitchell, Kenan Thompson, and Ciara and Russell Wilson.
“It’s so important to remember that we are all in this together, and our kids and loved ones need outlets to help them process and understand what’s going on and, most importantly, to still feel connected,” Bell said in a statement. “I hope kids and families come away from this special feeling a little more comfortable and that they enjoy some much-needed moments of humor during this difficult time.”
#KidsTogether: The Nickelodeon Town Hall will air on Nickelodeon, TeenNick and Nicktoons, and will be available on Nick On Demand, Nickelodeon YouTube, the Nick App and the Nick Pluto TV channel after tonight’s premiere. The special is part of Nickelodeon’s #KidsTogether initiative, which offers kids and families tips for staying healthy along with ideas for activities to do together at home.
