Do your kids ask for donuts every time you stop at Dunkin’? Good news: the donut chain is selling DIY donut kits at select stores, which means your kids can get creative with these sweet treats.
Packs range from four donuts for $5.99 and nine donuts for $9.99, plus each pack includes plain donuts, sprinkles and frosting options like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.
The DIY kit idea began in Concord, CA, after one Dunkin’ employee asked if she could bring home donuts, frosting and sprinkles for her two nephews. That inspired the store’s owner, Matt Cobo, and his sister to drop kits on the doorsteps of friends and family members, saying “you’ve been Dunk’d!”
“The reality of this experience has set in, and we know it’s not going anywhere anytime soon,” said Cobo. “Like most parents, we were looking for ways to entertain our kids and bring a little levity to this situation.”
You can also purchase Baskin-Robbins DIY Sundae Kits, filled with two quarts of ice cream, a wet topping (like hot fudge or caramel sauce), two dry toppings (like cookie dough pieces and rainbow sprinkles), cherries and a full can of whipped cream. Each Sundae Kit comes with five cups, spoons and napkins. Kits start at $24.99 and are available at participating Baskin-Robbins locations.
