Got an old car seat you no longer need? Target’s car seat trade-in event gives families a simple way to recycle expired, damaged or outgrown seats while finally clearing out some much-needed space at home.
Bring an old, expired or damaged car seat to Target and recycle it to redeem a 20 percent Target Circle bonus to get new baby gear. The coupon can be redeemed from April 19 to May 2. The full list of participating New Jersey locations can be found here.
Materials from the old car seats are recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management. Over the last decade, the trade-in event has kept 58 million pounds of materials out of landfills and recycled into more than 690,000 Brightroom and Room Essentials products.
This year’s 10th anniversary event also includes in-store experiences, giveaways and samples of baby essentials on April 25 and 26.
This year also marks the first Car Seat Trade-In event with Baby Concierge and Baby Boutique, which launched in 7 stores in New Jersey in March, offering both in-person and virtual support tailored to parents’ needs.
