New Jersey has lots of gems but one Bergen County village is among the most sought-after places to live in the country.
Ridgewood placed No. 3 on the list of Hottest Zip Codes in the U.S. for 2023, according to realtor.com. The site analyzed demand and the pace of the market in terms of how long it takes a house to be sold.
According to the study, the median number of days a home is on the market in Ridgewood is 18. The median listing price is $1.14 million.
Ridgewood is a popular place for families to settle because of its small-town feel, the beautiful architecture of its homes, its high-ranking public schools, its vibrant downtown packed with shops and restaurants and its proximity to the train station.
Two other NJ towns made the list of Top 50 as well. Sewell (08080) in Gloucester County came in at No. 19, and Hightstown in Mercer County (08520) placed 38th. Sewell is part of Mantua Twp. and Washington Twp. known for relatively inexpensive homes, good education and health care. Hightstown sometimes gets overshadowed by its neighbor Princeton, but it has a community of parks, volunteer spirit and festivals throughout the year.
