This Cute, Kid-Friendly Wildwood Motel Just Got a Retro Makeover

The mid-century style Pink Champagne Motel has just reopened after a full renovation

If your family vacations in Wildwood, you know the vibe well: bright neon, colorful motels and mid-century-style architecture that takes you back to the 1950s and ’60s. Downtown murals celebrate music icons like Bobby Rydell and Chubby Checker, and The Wildwoods By the Sea Doo Wop Experience Museum pays tribute to the town’s rock ’n’ roll roots.

The Pink Champagne Boutique Motel fits right in with that mid-century Doo Wop style. Located on Atlantic Avenue, one block from the beach and the Wildwoods Boardwalk, the motel dates back to 1957 and is known for its neon sign and pink-and-white color palette.

After being purchased by a new owner, the property just wrapped a full renovation that refreshed its rooms while preserving the retro character that makes Wildwood so unique.

Its new owner, Antoinette Madonna, a lifelong Cape May County resident and real estate investor, had a vision to update every room, bathroom and common area while retaining the motel’s pink accepts and retro vibe.

“When I first saw the motel, I knew it deserved another chapter,” Madonna said in a statement announcing the reopening, adding that the goal was to preserve its history while making a stay more comfortable with modern updates.

“It’s about honoring what people have always loved about Wildwood while giving them an experience that feels fresh and unforgettable,” Madonna said.

The 25-room property has accommodations ranging from queen efficiencies to one-bedroom suites that sleep up to six people. Some suites have full kitchens. The motel also has an outdoor pool, sundeck, free parking, free coffee and digital check-in.

The renovation fits into Wildwood’s broader effort to preserve the town’s colorful mid-century architecture.

Details like angled roofs, bright neon signs, exterior staircases and themed motel names are all part of what is known as Doo Wop style.

The Wildwoods By the Sea Doo Wop Experience Museum at 4500 Ocean Avenue showcases that style. Voted one of the country’s Best Pop Culture Museums in USA Today’s 2026 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards for the fourth year in a row, you’ll find restored neon signs, vintage furniture and more tied to Wildwood’s music and pop-culture history.

The Pink Champagne is a short walk from the beach, boardwalk, Wildwoods Convention Center and Morey’s Piers. The five miles of beaches stretching across North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest are free. In 2026, USA Today 10Best readers named The Wildwoods the Best Beach in New Jersey for the third consecutive year.
