We all have our favorite spots along the Jersey Shore and which towns are the best to visit is often up for debate. The writers at The Discoverer compiled a list of beach towns across the country that are ideal for a summer road trip and put Point Pleasant Beach on their list.
The writers love the East Coast boardwalk’s family-friendly vibes. It’s also beloved for its white sand beaches, art festivals, sidewalk sales and small businesses. The boardwalk is home to Jenkinson’s Aquarium, amusement park rides and restaurants with ocean views. Of course, there are also arcades, ice cream shops, and funnel cake!
Some of our favorite spots to nosh along the shoreline or in town are Pop’s Corner (the breakfast nachos are a must), Lobster Shanty, Point Lobster Bar & Grill, and River Rock, where you can pull up and dock your boat. Joe Leone’s has a market full of Italian specialties, or stop by Molly Boards for a gorgeous and yummy charcuterie board. No visit is complete without ending the day at Hoffman’s Ice Cream. Trade in seawater for beer at Last Wave Brewing Company or Martell’s Tiki Bar. Shop at Big Fun Toys or plan a day cruise aboard The River Queen.
The must-visit beach towns in the U.S., according to The Discoverer, include:
Cannon Beach, Oregon
Block Island, Rhode Island
Pacific Grove, California
Chincoteague Island, Virginia
Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey
Chatham, Massachusetts
Duck, North Carolina
