Pop’s Corner opened in Point Pleasant Beach last summer and is already making a name for itself with locally brewed coffee, breakfast nachos, thick-cut bacon and buffalo chicken grilled cheese. It’s become so popular that they now have a bakery on site, and added dinner service as well.
“Pops” Bruce Fischer and his son-in-law, Brian Neiman, converted an old diner into a restaurant and market. There are 65 seats in both the main dining area and cafe/market section. The walls are adorned with murals by Peter Tunney, Pop’s favorite artist.
The Breakfast Menu features Archie’s Loaded French Toast (stuffed with Nutella and bananas, with whipped cream), Crab Cake Benedict (jumbo lump crab cake topped with poached eggs and old bay hollandaise sauce on an English muffin), Fried Chicken and Waffle (crispy Southern fried chicken on top of a crispy waffle and honey butter), and a Monte Cristo (French Toast with ham, gruyere, raspberry preserves and powdered sugar).
Of course, there’s their version of Pop’s Breakfast Sandwich: Taylor ham, egg and cheese with home fries and the Shore Thing Omelette with pork roll, American cheese and caramelized onions. They leave the name debate up to you!
We highly recommend the Breakfast Nachos: they are piled inches high with tortilla chips, nacho cheese sauce, pepperjack cheese, chorizo, scrambled eggs, bacon bits, black beans, tomatoes, onions, chives, sour cream drizzle, chipotle drizzle. Watch out for the jalapenos. There’s enough here to feed the table – and then some. You’ll be picking on them when you get home, guaranteed.
If you can’t eat that much in the morning, opt for a Fresh Start Bowl (tri-color quinoa, roasted vegetables, kale, toasted oats, avocado and fried egg, with a lemon pesto sauce), avocado toast, or a make-your-own omelet.

Lunch starts at 11 am every day, with a selection of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads and appetizers. Favorites include The Smash Melt, Serious Steak Sandwich with Pop’s Serious Steak Fries, Veggie Melt, Flipped Out Tuna Melt, Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese and Pop’s Famous Bacon Steak.
Dinner service is every day from 5-9 pm. Some of the new menu items include crab cakes, tuna tartare nachos, cheesesteak fries, watermelon caprese, shrimp & lobster roll sliders. mushroom pappardelle, blackened salmon, grilled chicken primavera, and Pop’s Burger.
Pop’s is expanding its bakery with a full-time baker in-house, so everything will be made on premise. In Pop’s Market & Bakery, there are oversized cookies, cookie croissants, chocolate dipped cupcakes, a variety of cakes.
And no cafê with be complete without the coffee: Pop’s offers Lacas Coffee Company, which is brewed in Pennsauken.
Come on Game Day for wings, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, corn fritters or mac-and-cheese bites.
Both families live and work in Point Pleasant, and have strong ties to the community. The families created Pop’s Student Menu so that high school kids can come in during the week and order a burger, flatbread pizza, a chicken Caesar wrap or chicken Caesar salad, which all come with fries and a fountain drink, for only $8.
Pop’s Corner and Pop’s Market & Bakery are located at 500 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach. Breakfast, lunch and brunch are served from 8 am to 3 pm and dinner is served from 5-9 pm, Thursday through Sunday. The market and bakery hours are 8 am to 5 pm daily. Pop’s accepts dinner reservations via Resy, their website or by phone.
