These Labor Day Events in NJ Are Among the Most Popular in the U.S., According to Poll

Parades, festivals and BBQs top the list

Labor Day Weekend is upon us which means parades, festivals, BBQs await.

A poll from Mixbook just named two New Jersey spots to its list of the 150 Most Popular Labor Day Events in America.

A survey of 3,000 people shared where they would like to spend the holiday if distance were not a factor.

Labor Day at the Jersey Shore came in at No. 61. This weekend at the Shore is always among the best with live music, festivals and more happening from August 30 to September 2. The most popular towns to kick off the end of summer in NJ are Asbury Park, Point Pleasant and Wildwood.

Wildwood, in particular, has a lineup of events including boot camp fitness in the Plaza, yoga on the beach, Friday Night Fireworks, a farmers market, a craft show, the World Championship Skeeball Tournament, several beachfront concerts, and the End of Summer Block Party and Music Festival.

In Cape May, check out AirFest at the NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum, the West Cape May Tomato Festival, the Jr. Clamshell Pitching Tournament.

There’s a Labor Day Race on Monday in Ocean City.

In Monmouth County, the Food Truck & Music FEASTival takes place in Keyport, or Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport hosts the BBQ & NJ Craft Beer Festival.

Fireworks kick off the weekend on Thursday in Manasquan, or head to Tropicana in Atlantic City on Saturday.

Another NJ Labor Day weekend gem is the Boonton Firemen’s Labor Day Parade, which came in at No. 63. This is one of the largest and oldest firefighter parades in the state, and features everything from marching bands to fire trucks to community floats. It’s a beautiful way to honor the service of our heroes. The parade is followed by a carnival, which runs Thursday to Monday, and fireworks.
