Take the Scenic Route With These Fall Foliage Cruises

You can hike, you can drive or you can sail to see the best fall foliage the area has to offer. Check out one of these sightseeing cruises that will be sure to impress as your family sets foot aboard a maritime vessel to see the best fall has to offer.

Bear Mountain Sightseeing Cruise
Circle Line kicks off the fall season with the return of its annual Bear Mountain sightseeing cruise, featuring on-board Oktoberfest-themed food and drink specials, live music and views of fall foliage as guests cruise up the Hudson River. The eight-hour, 50-mile, round-trip excursion will run every weekend from Sept. 17 – Nov. 13. Passengers will pass by dozens of sites like the 800-foot-tall Hook Mountain, Hudson River Palisades, the Cloisters, George Washington Bridge, Mario Cuomo Bridge and more. There will be live music performances and Oktoberfest-esque food and drink items onboard to keep the fun going all day long. Once passengers arrive at Bear Mountain and disembark from the boat, they will have a few hours to explore the natural landmarks, as well as a wide range of attractions within the park, including various trailside museums, a local zoo and a carousel in the Merry-Go-Round Pavilion. Fall Foliage Brunch Cruise
This cruise offers a mouthwatering buffet while you relax amidst the changing view of the foliage along the Hudson River. You can depart from Highlands or from Pier 11 in NY on select days from Sept. 24 – Nov. 12. En route for 3 – 5 hours, see Sandy Hook Bay, the Verrazano Bridge, New York Harbor, the George Washington Bridge, the Cloisters, the Palisades, Hastings-on-the-Hudson, Tarrytown, Ossining, Croton Point, Haverstraw, Stony Point and West Point.

Fall Foliage Cruise to Cold Spring, NY
Cruise along the tree-lined Hudson River to historic Cold Spring, NY, aboard a Seastreak catamaran. Enjoy a gourmet meal and boutique shopping in this historic, 1800s village main street. You can stay the weekend in Cold Spring or nearby Beacon, NY. This all-day cruise is available on the weekends from Sept. 16 to Nov. 13 and includes the stopover.

Fall Foliage Lunch Cruise
Board the boat from Lincoln Harbor Marina in Weehawken at around 11:30 am for a 3-hour sail. The Majestic Princess makes its way up the Hudson River, passing by George Washington Bridge, the Little Red Light House and more.

New York City Fall Foliage Lunch Cruise
Take the scenic route up the Hudson River, past the George Washington Bridge, where you can bask in the hues of autumn without leaving the city. A freshly prepared buffet will be paired with seasonal cocktails and live onboard entertainment. Plus, you can play interactive games and hang out at the rooftop bar. Board at Pier 61 in Chelsea Piers, NY. Remaining dates are Oct. 15 and 22.

West Point Tour & Fall Foliage Cruise
Travel to the United States Military Academy via a luxury Seastreak catamaran and join a tour of the facility. While on the boat, you’ll have lunch while listening to narration by the host.
