Liberty Science Center‘s newest exhibit will engross – literally – science lovers of all ages in everything stinky, crusty, slimy, mushy and oozy about our bodies.
Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body is a real-life interpretation of Sylvia Branzei’s best-selling book, Grossology. The animatronics, interactive displays and hands-on exhibits are based on the lessons taught by the writer and microbiologist, and give a playful spin to bodily functions like runny noses, body odor, vomiting, burping, farting and wounds.
Each of the play zones focuses on a different why or how about the human body. At the Vomit Center, Toot Toot and the Burp Machine, kids will laugh while learning about food digestion, with everything from sounds that replicate gas to the buildup of acid indigestion. Or dodge a snot ball while you explore why we sneeze.
You can climb a human skin wall that uses warts, hairs and wounds as hand and foot holds.
Test your surgical skills at a display similar to the game Operation.
Challenge each other at the arcade game-like Urine: The Game.
Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body will be on exhibit at Liberty Science Center, 222 Jersey City Blvd., Jersey City, through September 1. The exhibit is included with admission to LSC.
