There’s no shortage of charming spots in New Jersey and one of our faves was just named among the most charming small towns in the country by HGTV.
Lambertville has everything you’d want for the ideal day trip or staycation. Walk along Bridge, Main and Union streets for your pick of restaurants, shops, boutiques, Victorian homes, B&Bs and a 19th-century train depot. Known as “The Antiques Capital of New Jersey,” Lambertville has tons of shops to get your vintage treasures including The Antiques Center at the People’s Store.
There are beautiful views of the Delaware River, and a visit isn’t complete without a walk over the footbridge to get to New Hope, PA. You can also canoe or kayak under the bridge.
Look for birds or turtles along the D&R Canal or on nature trails, or spend time at one of the town’s parks and playgrounds.
The Lambertville Station Restaurant & Inn is a hotspot, with riverfront dining and a hotel. Liv and Charlie’s …Real Food is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. The ice cream at Owowcow is made with local roasted fruits and veggies, organic extracts, and hand-baked ingredients.
