Soccer’s biggest stage is headed to Met Life Stadium. For the first time ever, the world’s biggest sporting event will bring FIFA World Cup quarterfinal matches to New Jersey and Philadelphia.
The lottery opens today for Visa cardholders, giving you the chance to score an opportunity to buy tickets. You can apply through September 19. Winners will be chosen at random, and be notified on September 29. Then, you can buy tickets starting October 1.
Next up is an Early Ticket Lottery from October 27 to 31, where anyone with a FIFA ID can enter. Winners will be chosen at random, and then can buy their tickets from mid-November to early December.
If you need round 3, the Post-Draw Sales open in December on a first-come, first-served basis for general matches, again as long as you have a FIFA ID.
To get your ID, create a free account at FIFA.com/tickets. That’s where you’ll also join the lottery and have access to purchase tickets.
Admission to general matches will be about $60 per ticket, while the finals games could see prices soar to $6,700 per ticket – you read that right! Keep in mind that high-demand games or knockout rounds will see steep price increases. And FIFA is using “dynamic pricing,” meaning that ticket prices will rise and fall based on demand – so it’s best to set your alarm and log in as early as possible.
You can purchase up to 4 tickets per match, and a maximum of 40 tickets total. You can also add on hospitality packages that include premium seating, food, drinks and other perks; this is not via the lottery and can be purchased on its own.
Don’t worry if you can’t get in right away – FIFA will also launch its own resale platform as a safe way to resell or buy tickets. Be aware of scammers from different resale sites.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place across North America from June 11 to July 19, featuring 48 teams in 104 matches across 16 cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Look for travel bundle options like “Follow My Team” or “Venue Series” that include multiple matches and sometimes accommodations if you’re planning to catch a game outside of New Jersey.
