If you’re a fan of HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls, get ready to add another store to your shopping list. Homesense, a new sister store, will open its doors in two New Jersey locations over the next couple of months.
Homesense’s first NJ store will open on September 7 in East Hanover Plaza on Route 10. A second location in Seaview Square Shopping Center on Route 66 in Ocean Township is set to open in October.
How will the new store compare with the HomeGoods we know and love? Homesense’s inventory will focus on furniture, specifically sofas, leather furniture, desks, lighting, art and rugs. HomeGoods’ doesn’t carry many sofas, tables and other large furniture. There will also be an emphasis on cleaning, home improvement and organizational products (think mailboxes, door stops and fireplace accessories) in a “General Store” section.
As seasoned HomeGoods shoppers know, Homesense’s inventory won’t stay the same. Everything in the store will sell at discounted rates of 30 to 40 percent below department store prices.
Earlier this month, Homesense opened its first location in Framingham, Massachusetts with plans to open another Massachusetts location in Westwood. While Homesense stores are just opening their doors in America, they’re already a well-established brand in Europe and Canada.
