It’s no April Fools’ joke: When Dairy Queen announced on April 1 that two favorite flavors were coming out of the DQ Freezer, it was for real.
For a limited time, you can order the Frosted Animal Cookie Blizzard and the Brownie Batter Blizzard, which were locked away over the past 40 years (175 creations since 1985 have come off the menu and been kept for safekeeping). This is the first time DQ has opened up its ice cream locker to reintroduce flavors.
The Frosted Animal Cookie Blizzard has – you guessed it – frosted animal cookie pieces and pink confetti icing blended into soft serve. The Brownie Batter Blizzard has soft, chewy brownie pieces.
The DQ Freezer is only open occasionally and for a limited time. There are also new flavors announced for the summer season:
- Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Party Blizzard Treat: Chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter topping, and rainbow confetti crunch blended with soft serve
- Picnic Peach Cobbler Blizzard Treat: Real peaches and cobbler pieces blended with soft serve
- Ultimate Cookie Blizzard Treat: Oreo, Chips Ahoy and Nutter Butter cookies blended with soft serve
- Cotton Candy Blizzard Treat: Cotton candy sprinkles blended with soft serve
To celebrate the new menu, DQ is offering BOGO Blizzards (as in buy one get one free!) through April 14 if you order through the DQ Mobile App.
