This month’s all about fun with your little ones, including a trip to Marvel Universe Live and storytime with the Easter Bunny (at the zoo!). And if you’re looking for more fun but don’t want to spend too much cash, check out these free things to do in March.

Karaoke and Pizza

First Friday Story Time

Dr. Seuss Birthday Breakfast

Deets: Dr. Seuss fans can enjoy the breakfast snack bar, make a Cat in the Hat hat, go fishing for 1 fish, 2 fish, red fish, blue fish and take pictures with silly props. There’ll also be a sing-along to Seussical the Musical.

Sugar Maple Celebration

Deets: Have you ever seen a tree tapping? Get the full experience, including a nature hike focused on wildlife, tree identification and climate change, and find out how each relates to the creation of sugar maple.

My Little Pony Party

Small Explorers March Program

Deets: It’s never too early to get them interested in STEAM. Start with the story If the Dinosaurs Came Back, then hit the Written in the Rock exhibit. They can get involved in hands-on STEAM activities, play with dinosaur costumes, puppets and more.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Deets: Spend the afternoon searching the museum grounds for hidden plastic eggs filled with holiday treats. The Easter Bunny will hop by to surprise the little ones.

Deets: It may be a bit of a hike, but if you’re a family of egg-hunting enthusiasts, check out Elks Annual Easter Egg and Jaycee’s Wildwood Easter Egg Hunt for an egg-travagant experience. If you’re further north, hit Easter at the Pier in Long Branch instead for a free meet and greet, bunny hop, face painting, egg hunt and more.

Thomas and Friends—Explore the Rails

Where: Liberty Science Center, Jersey City

Deets: Introduce them to STEM concepts by letting them take control of Thomas’ cab, make repairs to Percy in the Sodor Steamworks shop, dress like a conductor, play at the Tot Spot and more.
