The baby days are filled with gear. So much gear. If you had a baby or shopped for a friend or family member having a baby back in the day, chances are you hit up a Babies “R” Us. Five years after the chain closed the last of its U.S. stores, Babies “R” Us is back with a 10,000-square-foot flagship store at American Dream in East Rutherford.

The new Babies “R” Us officially opened its doors yesterday in the same mall where Toys “R” Us opened just over a year ago. Beyond shopping for all things baby goodies and clothes under one roof, the flagship also offers interactive experiences.

Among them is a Stroller Test Track, where customers can try out a stroller on grass, stairs or uneven surfaces. There’s also an area where shoppers can practice installing a car seat.
