Christmas Village in Philadelphia is taking over downtown Philly for a winter wonderland.
This is the 16th year that LOVE Park, City Halls Courtyard and the North Broad section of Philly will come alive with holiday cheer. You’ll feel like you’re in Germany instead of Pennsylvania as local and international vendors set up in traditional wooden booths, offering holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts in the style of an authentic German market.
If you’re not old enough for a wine or spirits tasting, take a ride on the historic carousel or Ferris wheel, and watch the Schuhplattler dancers perform. There’s also a Christmas Village kids train.
Well-known European food options include bratwurst, Raclette cheese, strudel, schnitzel, spätzle and Belgian fries.
The festive Käthe Wohlfahrt tent features popular Christmas gifts from Germany, including glass ornaments, music boxes, nutcrackers, Schwibbogen and incense smokers. There will be more than 110 vendors spread out across three city blocks offering their unique giftware in the shadow of Philadelphia’s iconic City Hall.
The Christmas Village is open from 12 am – 8 pm Sundays – Thursdays, and Fridays and Saturdays from 12 am – 9 pm, from Nov. 17 – Dec. 24. The village is closed Nov. 20, 21 and 22. Thanksgiving Day hours (Nov. 23) are 10 am – 5 pm, and Christmas Eve hours (Dec. 24) are 12 am – 5 pm. The location of the village is City Hall and LOVE Park at JFK Plaza, 1500 Arch St., Philadelphia. Admission is free.
