
From September 15 to October 15 every year, we celebrate Hispanic and Latino traditions, culture and customs during Latin & Hispanic Heritage Month. Here’s a roundup of where to go in NJ for cultural celebrations and beyond.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Tito Puente Jr. Salsa Night
Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, this outdoor concert will celebrate the culture, music, and legacy of Latin America through the sounds of Tito Puente Jr.’s ensemble. There will be food and drinks from the restaurants at the mall, as well as giveaways, store promos and a spin wheel.

La Fiesta Hispana
Fox Park, Wildwood
Experience Hispanic culture through food, live music and vendor booths.
Latino Festival of Monmouth County
Hall of Records Parking Lot, Freehold Borough
Live music, Latin food, games, entertainment and vendors will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.
September 26
South Orange Downtown Fiesta in La Placita
Spiotta Park, South Orange
The outdoor celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month features a live mariachi performance, a salsa dance lesson, music throughout the evening from DJ Mixxx, and tacos for sale.
Fiesta El Tianguis & Community Market
Behind Casciano and on S. 2nd Street, Hammonton
This open-air market will be all about Hispanic Heritage Month, with food and shopping vendors.
September 28
Princeton Festival Cultural Latino
Downtown Princeton
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through music, dance, food, performances, creative arts and crafts, and family activities.
Último Domingo: Celebrate Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month
Zimmerli Art Museum, New Brunswick
Último Domingo (Last Sunday) is a series celebrating Latinx culture. Bilingual communities come together through art by checking out the museum’s exhibitions, creating their own art, and watching interactive performances.
October 4
The Bobby Sanabria Multiverse Big Band
McCarter Theatre Center, Princeton
GRAMMY-nominated drummer, composer and Bronx-born Nuyorican Bobby Sanabria will present Leonard Bernstein’s iconic West Side Story using Latin jazz. This is part of Hispanic Heritage Month programming at McCarter.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, ShopRite and Unilever are teaming up for their fourth annual Juntos (“Together”) event series — a celebration of culture, family and community through live music, cultural activities, a DJ, beauty activations, sampling stations, and an ice cream station.
October 10
Celia Cruz – A Tribute to the Queen!
McCarter Theatre Center, Princeton
A live band will play Afro-Cuban rhythms, along with Cuban singer Xiomara Laugart, GRAMMY-nominated jazz pianist and composer Axel Tosca, and special guest Tito Puente Jr. This is part of Hispanic Heritage Month programming at McCarter.
October 17
Aida Cuevas – The Queen of Mariachi
McCarter Theatre Center, Princeton
Known as the “Queen of Ranchera Music,” Aida will take the stage as part of her 50th Anniversary U.S. Tour. This is part of Hispanic Heritage Month programming at McCarter.
October 28
Mariachi Herencia de México
State Theatre New Jersey, New Brunswick
The band includes 14 musicians, ages 18-32, representing a bicultural generation in the U.S.
