Halloween season in New Jersey just got ookier. Take your coven to the annual AddamsFest, a Westfield-wide shindig dedicated to local Charles Addams, the cartoonist who created The Addams Family characters. There’s an entire month of mysterious and kooky activities for all ages.
This year’s theme is Be Witched!, bringing witches into the mix, from history to pop culture.
So far this month, the fun included Morticia & Gomez’s Masquerade, Before Salem: The Botched Execution of Half-Hanged Mary, a workshop with New York cartoonist Dan Misdea, and lantern cemetery tours.
Upcoming events include:
Be Witched: Charles Addams and Other Incantations: October 11-27
Charles Addams Heritage Trail Tour, October 13
Full Moon Community Gathering, October 17
Ouija: Fun or Fearsome, October 19
Hexed: A Bewitching Musical Revue, October 19-20
Addams Family Fun Day, October 20
Spirits, Witches and The Great Beyond, October 24
Charlie’s Ale Garden, October 26
Throughout the month you can visit The Addams Family House on Mindowaskin Pond; see Addams-inspired murals; take part in the Haunt Your House Decorating Contest; view the Wicked Windows of Westfield; and pop by the Bewitched Selfie Stop.
