When it comes to summer fun activities, visiting a gorgeous sunflower trail is right at the top of the list! From now through Labor Day, you can visit Von Thun Farms in Washington for a picture-perfect experience amongst the beautiful, sunny blooms.
Von Thun Farms is located in the scenic rolling hills of Warren County and they have eight distinct sunflower trails, all planted at different times this past spring to ensure blooms all summer long.
Weekday visitors can wander the sunflower trail, take Instagram-worthy photos with more than a dozen unique photo props, visit the farm animals, pick raspberries, blackberries, or peaches (while in season) and shop for homegrown produce and pasture-raised beef in the farm market. Weekend visitors can also enjoy a hayride around the farm, grab food from rotating gourmet food trucks and sip some beer on select Sundays from local NJ craft breweries.
Special sunflower-centric events this summer include a Farm to Table dinner on July 31st featuring 8-10 tasting courses and the Sunflower Food Truck Festival on Saturday, August 7th featuring 15+ food trucks, beer, wine & sangria, live music and hatchet throwing.
The sunflower trail and farm are located at 438 Route 57 West, Washington, NJ 07882. The sunflower trail is open daily through Labor Day, 9 am – 5 pm on weekends and 10 am – 5 pm on weekdays.
