Fortune Well just released its ranking of the best places in the US for families to live and two New Jersey towns made the cut! In its 25 Best Places to Live for Families list, Fortune analyzed more than 215,000 data points for nearly 2,000 cities and towns across the US to come up with their list. The places mentioned here are communities they say would suit the Sandwich Generation — that is, parents of young children who are also caring for their own aging parents. With amenities like great schools, access to quality healthcare and a strong sense of community, it’s easy to see why NJ is spotlighted on the list.

West Windsor took the #11 spot on the list of 25 towns. With great schools, easy access to the bustling university town of Princeton and a close-knit community, it’s no surprise that families flock here from across the country. The former farming town even has a pop culture claim to fame — its Grovers Mill is the location where Orson Welles said the aliens were invading in “War of the Worlds.”

Taking the #15 spot is Parsippany – Troy Hills.  This suburban town has miles of beautiful parkland and is a commuter’s dream for those making the trek into NYC. Besides the reasonable commute, residents enjoy highly rated public schools, plenty of outdoor activities like hiking and biking and close proximity to fun spots like the Turtle Back Zoo.
