New Jersey’s packed with top-tier ice cream spots for the most sweltering of days, but according to Eat This, Not That!, a Central Jersey parlor has the best in the state.

Nicholas Creamery is known for its small-batch ice cream. You can try some of their classic flavors year-round, like Good Ole Fashioned Chocolate, PeanutButterpalooza, Hudson Café Coffee Crunch, Brown Sugar Cookie Dough and Vegan Coconut Cherry Vanilla. Then there are special options – available in limited quantity – as their Flavors of the Month, like Gimme S’mores, Porta Ricotta & Olive Oil, Not Cherry Garcia, and Mueller’s Bakery Crumb Cake.

There’s also a menu of handspun milkshakes like Chocolate Brownie, Mint With Alotta Chip, and Hudson Jitterbug (made with coffee crunch ice cream).

If you want to take your ice cream to go, their ice cream cakes are made with their homemade ice cream, either premade in the case or custom ordered. And if you want some Nicholas Creamery in your own backyard (literally!), you can rent a Creamery Cart for parties and special occasions.

Nicholas Creamery has locations in Fair Haven, Atlantic Highlands, Tinton Falls, Long Branch, Middletown and Wall, all in Monmouth County.
