There are so many reasons to visit Adventure Aquarium during the year – mainly, the thousands of aquatic animals on display – but this fall, there’s an added bonus: glowing pumpkins are set to return – and they’ll be on dry land and under water.
Fintastic Pumpkin Glow is a fall festival that offers glowing gourds in every shape, size and species located throughout the aquarium, both above the surface and deep below the sharks and stingrays.
New this year is a nearly 10-foot underwater octopus that’s shaped out of pumpkins. Plus, there’s a snorkeling scarecrow that is keeping watch over the underwater pumpkin patch.
Special sensory tables will be set up with pumpkin slime and other hands-on projects for kids.
For an additional $5, you can paint and take home a pumpkin masterpiece.
Stop by the gift shop on your way out if you’re looking for pumpkin-themed souvenirs.
If you want to keep the fun going once you leave, tune in to the “What Goes Bump in the Midnight Zone” show, which talks about the creatures that live deep down in what’s called the ocean’s Midnight Zone.
Fintastic Pumpkin Glow takes place from September 19 to November 3 at Adventure Aquarium, 1 Riverside Dr., Camden. Tickets are available online, but through October 27 you can sign up for a free annual pre-K membership for kids ages 2-5.
