Valentine’s Day is almost here. If you haven’t made a dinner resy yet, you might want to try one of the five most romantic restaurants in New Jersey, according to OpenTable. The site looked at more than 12 million reviews and metrics for its list and based on those reviews, each one of these restaurants is worth the trip.
618 Restaurant in Freehold has a newly renovated bar and an upstairs events space and it’s been on this list three years in a row. The food and cocktails here are Instagram-worthy, from the NY strip steak for two to the pistachio martini to the smoky drinks. Take a piece of 618 home with a cocktail kit and candle collection, or sign up for a mixology class with your sweetie for your next date night.

The Franklinville Inn in Franklinville, Gloucester County, is all about the rustic charm inside a Victorian home. The ambiance here is warm and cozy, whether in the main dining area or lounge. They are also known for their martinis, with choices like pomegranate, key lime or mint chocolate chip.

Il Mulino New York is famous in NYC, so it’s no wonder the Atlantic City location is also really popular. It’s part of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino but once inside, you’ll feel like you’re in Italy. The food is from the Abruzzese area of Italy and is served in multiple courses, usually topped off with some grappa.
The Gables Historic Inn & Restaurant in Beach Haven, on Long Beach Island, offers dinner inside the Victorian mansion, out on the porch or in the gardens. Part of the menu is a three-course prix fixe that includes local seafood, fish and duck options; handmade fresh pasta; raised-right pork and prime rib; or vegetarian dishes. You can also book a room for the night.

Another Jersey Shore gem is the Washington Inn in Cape May, a former plantation house built in 1840. It has its own wine bar among six dining areas, including a patio open in the summer and tables with firepits. Classic dishes include lamb cavatelli, crabcakes, seafood cioppino and whole roasted branzino.
