
It’s report card time – not for your kids, but for the state’s educational system.
The New Jersey Department of Education released its New Jersey School Performance Report for 2022-23 this week. The top 30 schools in New Jersey, which include both public and charter schools, all have an A+ ranking and a score of 98 or higher. There are a mix of public and private; elementary, middle and high; charter and vocational; and northern, central and southern schools on the list.
The data evaluates – where applicable – enrollment, pre-K and kindergarten trends; student growth by performance level; performance in subjects like math, language arts, science and English proficiency; GPA and performance on college prep tests; graduation rates, dropout rates and absenteeism; violence and vandalism; teacher and staff experience levels; and student-to-teacher ratios.
Roosevelt Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics, located in Pennsauken, is No. 1 on the list with a 100 summative rating. Math scores are at 100, with language arts close behind at 99.83. Attendance is 99.64 percent.
Infinity Institute in Jersey City also got an A+ rating for its 100 summative rating, with 100 in both language arts and math, but attendance at 62.75 percent.
Following at No. 3 is Woodbridge Academy Magnet School in Woodbridge also ranking at 100, with scores of 98.64 in language arts, 98.10 in math, and 99.73 percent attendance rate.

- Harrison Elementary School, Livingston
- High Technology High, Monmouth County Vocational School District, Middletown
- Upper School, Englewood Cliffs
- Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, Ho-Ho-Kus

- Mackay Elementary School, Tenafly
