The Wildwoods is always a go-to for fun at the Jersey Shore—and this summer, there’s more to look forward to, with new hotels, restaurants, and events adding to the lineup.

The boardwalk, just named the No. 1 boardwalk in the country by USA Today readers, is a can’t-miss. Morey’s Piers has rides, games, restaurants, snack shops, an arcade, a roller coaster, a water park and shopping.

GREATER WILDWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Wildwoods calls itself the “Event Capital of the East Coast,” and with good reason – there are over 160 festivals and events held every year, from street fairs to beach fests to activities inside the Wildwoods Convention Center.

The Stampede Rodeo & Bulls on the Beach, on May 16 and 17, is new this year with girls’ barrel racing, trick riding, and bull riding. The new Sevens at the Shore Beach Rugby tournament is August 2 and 3. Then, mark your calendar for the new, free Thunder Over the Waves Air Show flies high above the beach September 5 and 6.

Country music fans wait all year for Barefoot Country Music Festival, which brings more than 40 performers to Wildwood for four days in June, including Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, Jelly Roll, and Jordan Davis.

Other returning favorites are the Kustom Hot Rud & Muscle Car Show, the Spring Fling Festival, the International Kite Festival, farmers markets downtown, boardwalk craft fairs, Memorial Day ceremonies, and the PigDog PuppaPalooza Pooch Pool Party & Beach Walk at Morey’s Piers.

Johnny LonghotsShawn’s Cheesesteaks & Paninis, The Rook Wildwood and Rommadill Pickling Store are great food options coming to Pacific Avenue in Wildwood. Wildwood will also welcome Sandy Boots Saloon on East Lincoln Avenue. Crest Coffee Company will open in Wildwood Crest; while Antney’s Grub and Ricardi Brothers will welcome diners in North Wildwood.

East Coast Surf Shop will open a new location at 3810 Boardwalk in Wildwood.

GREATER WILDWOOD TOURISM IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

This year, The Wild Resort will open at Glenwood Avenue and the Boardwalk. You may not recognize the area, since the boardwalk’s facade is going to be renovated to include a hotel lobby and cafe on the boardwalk, plus a restaurant and pool on the second floor, with hotel rooms and luxury suites overlooking the ocean.

Mahalo Resorts, formerly the Regal Plaza Beach Resort, is currently under construction.

Madison Resorts was a hit when it opened last year, and has already been named a top hotel in the state. An upgrade of the former Oceanview Motel and the Royal Hawaiian properties, there’s a modern vibe at its poolside area, plus retro chic rooms with suites straight out of the ’50s.
