NJ Actor Performing in This Month’s ‘PAW Patrol’ Shows Shares Why It’s So Inspiring for Kids

Five shows take place at NJPAC later this month

PAW PATROL LIVE: A MIGHTY ADVENTURE

Take your kids on “A Mighty Adventure” when PAW Patrol Live! returns to New Jersey with its all-new stage show.

PAW PATROL LIVE: A MIGHTY ADVENTURE

The TV and movie franchise focuses on the pups saving Adventure City, with kids going wild for Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye and Zuma. In this storyline, they have to save the day from supervillain scientist Victoria Vance, who wants to use her new invention to crash a party she’s not invited to.

Actor Tyqaun White, who is currently living in East Orange, has a role as Sam Stringer, a news reporter who watches the crew “get into a lot of sticky situations.” They told New Jersey Family they’re a large part of helping the mighty pups save the day. “It’s fun and super courageous,” they said of the show. “It’s super action-packed, and a lot of kids will see their favorite pups … and the new pup, Liberty. They all come to life … and it’s a great way for families to spend quality time together.”

White is an alumni of Point Park University in Pittsburgh and began studying at City College of New York for Educational Theater. They joined Brooklyn Children’s Theater this year as a Teaching Artist because they believe in the power of introducing kids to live theater.

They have quite a history on stage of their own, appearing in shows like Memphis, Rent, Legally Blonde, Sweeney Todd, Fancy Nancy, Urinetown, Chicago, Ragtime, How to Succeed in Business, Frog and Toad, and Annie. Two years ago they starred in Alien Nation at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, but you may also recognize them from the last episode of Pose on FX.

White’s younger brother is a fan of PAW Patrol and they knew a friend working in the show, which brought them to this latest project. “It’s really fun and special for a lot of kids,” says White, who enjoys spending time in West Orange and Jersey City when they’re not on stage. “It’s about determination and teamwork and being positive. … Each pup has a special unique gift like every kid. … It’s super inspiring.”
