The neurosurgery division of the New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute (NJPNI) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for pediatric patients and their families. The practice recently welcomed more than six new boardcertified pediatric neurosurgeons and neurologists, and opened an office in Hamilton.

Board-certified pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Catherine Mazzola and her team provide patients with exceptional and individualized treatment for conditions including cerebral palsy, Chiari malformation, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, craniosynostosis, plagiocephaly, torticollis, brain tumors and spina bifida, as well as ADHD, autism, back/neck pain, headaches and tics.
“At our family-centered practice, we make the evaluation and treatment process as stress-free as possible,” Dr. Mazzola says. The doctors use cutting-edge technologies to provide the best possible outcomes. They collaborate with an extensive network of neurologists, therapists, psychologists and orthotists to develop individualized care plans.
Comprehensive and Collaborative Care
The doctors are available at night and on weekends for emergency visits and consultations, and they participate in many insurance plans. With the help of a compassionate team of nurse practitioners, they provide an array of surgical as well as minimally invasive therapeutic options to improve each child’s health and quality of life.
“We understand the stress involved in caring for a sick child, and ensure each child receives the necessary therapies and interventions,” says Dr. Mazzola, the first pediatric neurosurgeon in New Jersey to launch multidisciplinary programs in the areas of spasticity, cerebral palsy, craniofacial disorders and pediatric brain tumors.
