A Boston bar owner is coming back to NY to share her Jewish heritage with holiday lovers, opening a Hanukkah-themed bar for the season.

Maccabee Bar opened in 2018 in MA by award-winning bartender Naomi Levy when she saw a gap in the holiday market.

“I love Christmas and all of the Christmas bars that pop up this time of year,” she says. “But I always felt like a tourist. There was never really anything for someone like me that wasn’t raised with Christmas.”

Whether you grew up celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza or anything else, Maccabee Bar will satisfy your thirst for holiday cheer by creating a Hanukkah wonderland with special decor, themed cocktails and traditional bites.

There will be brand-new cocktails this year to try, or go back to old favorites such as the Latke Sour (apple brandy, potato, lemon, Havana & Hyde Bitters) and Ocho Kandelikas (Olive Oil Gin, honey, apricot, almond, lemon). There will of course be latkes as well as other small bites from the team at Saint Tuesday, this year’s new location.
