It’s time! If you’re a Mariah Carey fan, you know that November 1 is the start of the Christmas season. While we wait for The Queen of Christmas to arrive in New Jersey (she’s performing at Prudential Center on December 13), we’re planning a trip to NYC to see the new Mariah Carey’s Black Irish Holiday Bar. Virgin Hotels, Black Irish by Mariah Carey and Bucket Listers are decking the halls with a winter wonderland that includes a magical holiday window photo display, a Black Irish Christmas tree, a “Letters to Mariah” station, a lyric wall, and more. Get your vocal cords ready because you’ll feel like you’re in a holiday music video.
Black Irish is the Irish cream liqueur founded by Mariah in 2021, which comes in flavors original, salted caramel and white chocolate – and one is better than the other! Mariah inspired the signature cocktails that will be served at the bar.
The Signature Espresso Martini, called the MC Martini, is made with Black Irish Irish Cream and has a candy cane rim. The Martini Flight includes a White Chocolate Martini made with Black Irish White Chocolate Irish Cream and is topped with cotton candy and glitter. The Reposado Tequila Espresso Martini (called It’s Time) with Black Irish Irish Cream is garnished with a cinnamon stick. A Bourbon Martini infused with Salted Caramel Black Irish Irish Cream – known as the What More Can I Do – also includes a chocolate-covered pretzel rim. For something warmer, the Cocoa Coffee spiked with Black Irish Irish Cream (Queen of Christmas Hot Cocoa) looks pretty with red and green glitter sprinkles and edible butterflies.
If you’re home, Mariah suggests getting a bottle of Black Irish and drinking it over ice, or even eggnog.
James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels Collection, said because he was born and raised in Ireland, this is the perfect way to start the holidays. It’s also perfect timing since Mariah’s classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is celebrating its 30th anniversary this season.
Mariah Carey’s Black Irish Holiday Bar will be open every day from November 15 to December 29 at select Virgin Hotels in Chicago, Dallas, Nashville and New Orleans. The NYC location is located at The Pool Club at Virgin Hotels New York City, 1227 Broadway, 4th Floor, New York. You can book a 90-minute timeslot from 5 to 10:30 pm, and there are also brunch options from 12-3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets start at $22 per person and include a Black Irish welcome drink. Brunch tickets are $30 per person and include a welcome drink, but you pay for your entrée. Choices include matcha waffle, egg white frittata, shrimp benedict and brown butter banana bread. You must be 21 to go, even for brunch.
