Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without zombies so get your scary face on, find some tattered clothing and practice your zombie walk, stat, for one of these frightful events!

Throughout October

Fright Fest
Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson
Recommended for teens and adults 13 and older, this is one of the area’s scariest Halloween events. Nighttime events include a ghoul parade, live stage shows, terrifying scare zones, plus six haunted houses designed for the ultimate scare.

October 7

Zombie Walk
Asbury Park Convention Hall and Boardwalk
This walk has broken the Guinness Book of World Records for the number of zombies attending. This year, Zombie makeovers are back; you can get your face airbrushed before the Zombie Walk and costume contest. The 15th annual walk is expected to draw thousands of zombies in their best attire. The afterparty is at Johnny Mac’s following the walk.

October 15

Wake the Dead Zombie Stroll
Mini Park, Keyport
Book your zombie hair and makeup session at participating salons, and then enter the Zombie costume contests. Pick up your Operation Zombie Game Sheets to help the zombie collect all his body parts around downtown. Zombie Mini Bay Cruises take place before the stroll along the Zombie Waterfront. There’s a “Thriller” Zombie Dance Party that includes a performance by Perna Dance Studio dancers. There will be a series of after-parties at Burlews Seafood and Steak & Bar & Grill, McDonagh’s Pub & Restaurant and 3BR Distillery.

October 28

Zombie Walk
Montclair
East Side Mags and Indie Arts Montclair put on this walk every year, which includes a costume contest, spooky stops, an after party and spooky cocktails around town.

Monsterville Zombie Run 5K & Walk
Downtown Merchantville
Get dressed in your best Zombie costume and join the 5K, either by running like a marathoner or walking like the undead.
