We all know that a trip to the city with the kids could easily cost several hundred dollars (more when you add in food, parking or train tickets). But for one night this summer (on August 20th) the theater community makes a night at the theater more affordable.

THE BROADWAY LEAGUE / Kids Night on Broadway, MJ The Musical

For “Kids’ Night on Broadway,” many blockbuster shows are offering free seats for a kid when they come with a paying adult.

Here’s the full list of shows:
Aladdin
Back to the Future: The Musical
Chicago
The Great Gatsby
Hadestown
Hamilton
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Hell’s Kitchen
& Juliet
The Lion King
MJ The Musical
Moulin Rouge! The Musical
The Notebook
Once Upon a Mattress
The Outsiders
SIX
Suffs
Water for Elephants
Wicked

The Great Gatsby will offer the deal instead on Wednesday, August 21.

KEN RICHARDSON / Kids Night on Broadway

Adults purchasing a full-priced ticket will receive one free ticket for a child under 18 to the same show. Kids 13 and older can join the free Broadway Fan Club to be the first to know when tickets go on sale.

A Kids’ Night on Broadway ticket also includes restaurant discounts. Select shows will offer in-theater activities for kids including talkbacks, sing-alongs, art projects, activity books and other events. And if it’s their first Broadway show, ask for “My First Broadway Show” stickers, available at participating theatres.
