June is filled with free celebrations for Pride Month, Father’s Day, Flag Day and Juneteenth. Here’s our list of where to take the kids this month without breaking the bank.

Family Afternoon at The Farminary
The Farminary, Princeton
At the Princeton Theological Seminary’s 21-acre sustainable farm, where theological education meets ecological stewardship, this interactive event offers kids in grades K–8 an opportunity to connect with nature through hands-on activities, including seed planting and farm exploration. The afternoon will also feature a special storytelling session by author Alliah Agostini, known for The Juneteenth Story and The Juneteenth Cookbook, celebrating themes of food, culture and community.

HT Pride 2025: Choose Joy

The parade takes place on June 5, while Community Night is June 6, followed by a possible Drag Queen Story Hour on June 7 (TBD). The “celebration of joy” features artists, musicians, drag performers, local talent and community advocacy.
Trenton Pride 2025

The weekend party kicks off on Thursday with Pride Happy Hour at Cooper’s Riverview, followed by Trenton Thunder Pride Night at the Trenton Thunder baseball game. On Friday, a flag raising at City Hall is followed by a casual mixer at Tracey’s Kitchen. A highlight of Saturday’s activities is the solidarity march at the State Capitol building, followed by the Trenton Pride Festival in Mill Hill Park with music, entertainment, dance, drag queens, local artists, vendors, family activities, and food and drinks.

Pride on the Plaza

This all-ages community disco dance party has live music by The Einstein Alley Disco Funk Machine. Drag artist Divinity Banks will teach you how to do the Hustle and other iconic dances. Inside the library in the Community Room, there will be space to connect with others.

Lebanese Festival
St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, Somerset
Experience authentic Middle Eastern food, music, dance and culture. Traditional Lebanese foods such as falafel, shawarma (gyro), hummus, spinach pies, tabouli, stuffed grape leaves and pastries will be sold. There will be live music featuring a different singer each day, plus dancing and folkloric performances. There will also be raffles, prizes, souvenirs and games of chance. Admission and parking are free.

Party in Orange and Community Appreciation Day

Younity (formerly Womanspace) and the City of Trenton will hold a community-wide gathering to honor lives lost to gun violence. The morning begins with an anti-gun violence march through several Trenton neighborhoods, and winds up at a party in the park with live performances, music, food, family-friendly activities, advocacy stations and resource tables.

North Beach Atlantic City Fireworks Celebration
North Beach, Atlantic City
Start the evening with live music, drink specials and other activities across from the boardwalk area. You can visit the restaurants along Tennessee Avenue for specials. Then, the fireworks light up the sky around 9:30 from viewing areas around the resorts.

The early Independence Day celebration held by the Hopewell Valley Veterans Association will include a classic custom car exhibit, music by Castle Lane Band, and fireworks.

Battle of Monmouth
Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Manalapan
The Continental and British armies will reenact one of the longest battles of the Revolutionary War. You can visit the encampment, which has meet-and-greet with the historical interpreters, food vendors, old-time merch, and a visit inside the Visitor Center for more history lessons.

This free program features a medley of classics, Broadway themes and patriotic favorites as you overlook the Hudson River, NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
Firefly Festival

While you wait for the fireflies to light up at night, make your own wings and antenna, listen to live music, ride a pony, play in the barnyard area, watch Lolly Hopwood perform and grab some goodies from Pam’s Firefly Tent.
