Dentistry for Children of West Essex has been making children, teenagers and patients with special needs feel at home in their welcoming, kid-friendly office for more than 43 years. The practice recommends establishing a dental home by age one to allow pediatric dentists to develop positive relationships with patients and their parents.
A Team Approach to Dental Care
The practice is proud to be a part of the ProSmile family, and attributes its success to its friendly, caring and knowledgeable team. Dr. Richard Eytel, founder of Dentistry for Children of West Essex, recently retired from treating patients chairside, but remains active in the administration of the practice. He consults closely with all of the associates to ensure his legacy continues on.
The team includes pediatric dentists Drs. Iva Leroy, Angie Yoon, Vivian Hwangbo and Philip Lee, orthodontist Dr. Kevin Persily and general dentist Dr. Elliot Nash. Most of the staff has been with the practice for 20 to 30 years.
A Focus on Prevention
The practice is very prevention-oriented. Their goal is to help prevent dental disease—not just treat it—and to ensure happy, healthy patients who have a positive attitude toward dentistry for the rest of their lives.
They offer silver diamine fluoride to treat early decay and recommend sealants to protect teeth from cavities, as well as offering early orthodontic treatment. The dentists are also able to care for very young children and patients with special needs at a same-day surgery center under general anesthesia.
The office follows CDC, ADA and NJ state COVID guidelines to ensure staff and patient health and safety, including PPE, remote check-in and health screenings.
