When The Mandalorian launched on Disney+ last fall, Star Wars fans went wild for The Child (more popularly known as Baby Yoda), but there was no official merchandise for the holidays. Fear not: There will be plenty of Baby Yoda toys available this summer. In addition to the Build-a-Bear Workshop stuffed animal arriving this spring, you can get him in just about any shape or form you desire. Saw so many of them, we did… at Toy Fair in New York City this week.
Hasbro is launching a line of 2.25-inch figures of The Child in every pose, with and without froggy snacks. A collector “black series” version of small figures (including a frog, bowl and even Mando’s joystick) is also arriving this spring. The toy maker also has an animatronic Yoda who will move and adorably blink his little eyes to sleep this fall in time for the holidays. A squeezable one who makes super cute noises is also coming this spring.
There are also Mandalorian-themed versions of the classic board games Operation and Trouble.
Mattel is also releasing two very realistic plush Baby Yodas, an 11-inch version that comes in a cute little egg shaped box (out this spring) and a smaller, soft 8-inch version (in stores this fall).
LEGO has two sets coming out in August. The first is a Brickheadz take on The Child in his little floating egg (along with a Mando to take care of him). The second is a detailed playset of the Razor Crest ship, along with The Mandalorian, Greef Karga, a Scout Trooper and IG-11, along with the teeniest and most adorable minifig version of The Child (it’s barely bigger than an adult pinky nail).
Funko has two Pops coming out this spring—one in the traditional size and another a super size, 10-inch bobblehead.
There’s also a great (and mildly disturbing) board game from Buffalo Games called Frog Frenzy, where kids have to flip frogs into Baby Yoda’s mouth (coming this fall).
