Capitol Debate

Meet the Camp

Your child might become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or entrepreneur—and all these paths requires the ability to communicate with confidence. Today’s teens can text fluently but struggle to articulate ideas in college interviews, presentations, and future job settings.

Capitol Debate was created to bridge that communication gap. Through debate and public speaking, students learn to confidently participate in class, stand out in college interviews, pitch ideas professionally, and navigate conflict effectively. In an AI-driven world, the human ability to communicate persuasively has never been more valuable.

Established in 2006, Capitol Debate is led by professional educators who work year-round perfecting instruction, refining curriculum, and ensuring expert teaching. Whether naturally outspoken or more reserved, campers of all experience levels are supported with personalized learning plans that meet them where they are.

Families choose Capitol Debate for its strong track record. With more than 20 years of experience, the program has 10,000+ alumni from 1,500+ cities worldwide. Alumni have earned admission to Yale, Harvard, and Stanford; landed positions at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley; and have become physicians, attorneys, engineers, and leaders.

Named a TeenLife Top 100 Summer Program, Capitol Debate operates in 19 locations, including on prestigious college campuses such as Yale, UCLA, and Berkeley. Locally, it offers programs at the Hun School in Princeton, Lawrenceville School, and Rider University. Both residential or day camp options are available, and spots fill quickly.
